Measuring inclusion of LBTI women - Podcast available

Description:

In the context of recently adopted Sustainable Development Goals no one is to be left behind when accessing socio-economic and cultural rights. Access to housing, education, employment, services, health care are important factors to ensure active participation in society, its development and leading a life in dignity. LBTI women are one of the most vulnerable groups and at risk of being discriminated and excluded. In the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal measuring progress is going to be crucial. As LBTI women are not explicitly mentioned as a vulnerable group in Agenda 2030 there is a risk that they will be left out of national programmes and policy.Measuring the development and inclusion of LBTI women is going to be needed to ensure that they benefit from the SDGs as well. There is however a significant gap in data on the inclusion and wellbeing of LBTI women, particularly in low income countries.
