2015 Uganda Report of Violations Based on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation

This Uganda report is produced by The Consortium on Monitoring Violations Based on Sex Determination, Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation. It documents 89 cases of violations of rights of persons based on their gender identity and sexual orientation. Violations in 47 cases were perpetrated by state actors especially the Uganda Police Force. The report also highlights the influence of the Anti-Homosexuality Act in the violations that occurred in 2014. It reveals increased violation of rights of LGBT people by non state actors- there was increased mob attacks, family rejection, evictions and media outings.
