I. Not Yet in Place: Integral Protection for Marriage and Family Act

(Introduced in 2007 but not yet voted on)

a. Furthermore, in 2007, the Guatemalan legislature introduced the “,” which would bar single parents and same-sex couples from the definition of “family” under Guatemalan law. This bill has yet to be voted on but remains in the legislature. If it were to be passed, it would have egregious ramifications.
