Our Team

Vitaliy Zaharchuk (he/him) is based in Odesa, Ukraine and serves as the LGBTIQ inclusion advisor for Ukraine for Outright International. He is committed to establishing and building relationships with key humanitarian stakeholders to ensure that the LGBTIQ community is inclusively represented in humanitarian response efforts in Ukraine.

Since 2014, Vitaliy has been deeply involved in humanitarian coordination projects aimed at ensuring timely and comprehensive assistance to those in need in Ukraine. His motivation lies in empowering local civil society organizations to become strong and competitive in delivering quality services to their communities.

In his role at Outright International, Vitaliy actively participates in humanitarian sector meetings and working groups, advocates for LGBTIQ inclusion, facilitates collaboration between humanitarian actors and LGBTIQ civil society organizations, and organizes convenings and data gathering initiatives aimed at documenting the capacities and needs of the LGBTIQ community. He is also involved in identifying strategies for strengthening the humanitarian sector’s response to LGBTIQ needs and creating intersectional collaborations.

Vitaliy’s extensive experience encompasses over a decade of empowering vulnerable populations as well as training and contributing to projects focusing on gender-based violence prevention across various regions in Ukraine. He has worked with international organizations, such as USAID, GIZ, UNDP Ukraine, International Federation of Red Cross, and Red Crescent Societies. He has also developed and led training programs for the local NGOs, and national NGOs including the  Ukrainian Women’s Fund and the Institute of Creative Industry.

His involvement as an expert includes being a member of the research group on conflict environment in Kherson Oblast communities and participating in international conferences on internally displaced persons (IDPs). Furthermore, Vitaliy has developed guidelines for organizations like the Red Cross of Ukraine and Caritas Ukraine.

Vitaliy's certifications include Business Trainer for CEFE, EOPAC programs and more, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and empowerment. His passion for facilitating positive change and creating inclusive humanitarian initiatives is fueled by his diverse experiences and collaborations with both national and international entities.
