CNN reports on the White House announcement appointing Jessica Stern, Outright’s now outgoing Executive Director, as US Special Envoy for LGBTIQ rights. The position, previously left vacant by the Trump administration, will “play a vital role in leading implementation of the Presidential Memorandum on Advancing the Human Rights of LGBTQI+ Persons Around the World.” Jessica will work with the Biden administration to gather like-minded governments, civil society organizations, corporations, and international organizations to collaborate on advancing LGBTIQ human rights.
