New York, NY — On Monday, June 2, 2025, Outright International will host its flagship event, the Celebration of Courage awards & gala, at Pier Sixty in New York City. The evening will commemorate 35 years of advancing the human rights of LGBTIQ people worldwide—and it arrives at a time when such work is more urgent than ever.

Amid a rising global backlash—where over 62 countries still criminalize consensual same-sex relations, trans people's rights are under assault, and governments from Uganda to the United States are rolling back protections—Outright’s work remains a lifeline for LGBTIQ movements facing repression.

This year’s gala will bring together frontline activists, cultural trailblazers, philanthropic leaders, and corporate allies for an evening of reflection, recognition, and renewed commitment to the fight for global equality.

TV personality and author Karamo will host the evening, with a program featuring stories of activism and resilience across the globe. The 2025 OutFront Award will be presented to Deutsche Bank, recognizing a decade of leadership on workplace inclusion and continued commitment to human rights in an increasingly polarized environment.
