Support LGBT Chechens

Dear Friend,

By now you have heard the news about another wave of illegal detentions in Chechnya. Our community is under attack and they need your support.

The quote above from an LGBT group on social media in the region tells it all: People who are known or even suspected of being part of our community must leave if they are able.

Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, believes he can eradicate LGBT people from Chechnya. He believes he can simply threaten or kill off LGBT Chechens and "cleanse" this region. With Russia's lack of rule of law and their failure to provide justice to those already affected, the only option for many will be to flee.

Working with our partners on the ground, we have determined the best way to affect lives and save those under attack is to send funds immediately.

Your donation today can save lives and support the organizations on the ground in Russia who need it most.

What we know for sure is that at least 40 men and women have been detained since December. These imprisonments are in direct relation to their perceived or real sexual orientation. Also, at least two of the those detained died because of torture - as they were forced to name others they knew to be “nontraditional.”

One of the groups that sheltered many of the survivors after the first arrests are ready to do more. But that help is only possible if you will send your support today.

Every dollar of your support today will go directly to support the LGBT community in Chechnya.

Will you step up to save lives where they are under threat?
